Walker

We spend the rest of the day and that night in and out of bed. I only take a short break from her, just long enough to call up a few guys I know that are good about getting things done.

I tell them to furnish Kylee’s dorm room just the way it was. I’ll worry about moving all her stuff back in later.

I’m up early in the morning the next day. I call down for breakfast and coffee, and by the time she’s up and stretching like a cat, I’m already dressed.

“Morning,” she says, peering out from behind her covers.

“Morning,” I say. “Coffee?”

She sits up, wearing only a white t-shirt and I’m pretty sure nothing else, at least if I remember correctly. I bring her over a mug that says “World’s Best Boss!” and hand it to her.

She takes it with a little smile, takes a sip, and puts it down on the nightstand.

“Uhm, we should probably talk about last night.”

I grunt a little and shake my head. “Why ruin it?”

She glares at me. “It won’t ruin anything, you jerk.”

“We had a good time. We don’t need to analyze every detail.”

That seems to annoy her. She climbs out of bed and, sure enough, no panties. I think she didn’t realize that at first but she’s blushing by the time she makes it to the bathroom. She slams the door behind her and starts the shower.

I smile and head back into the main room to finish my coffee and grab something to eat. She’s dressed and glaring at me again by the time I’m completely through with breakfast.

“Look, I have stuff to do today,” she says.

I can’t help but laugh. “Wow. Kicking me out?”

“No, I mean—”

“And not even being classy about it. Ouch, Kylee. I’m almost hurt.”

She glares at me some more. “Look, I’m not trying to be mean or whatever. I just have class.”

“Don’t worry, I get it. I’ve used every excuse in the book. I’ve kicked out my fair share of women over the years.” I grin at her, shaking my head. “Look, I’m not going to stay, but you should know that I moved most of your stuff back into the dorms.”

She hesitates a second, clearly taken off guard. “You did?”

“Well, not your original stuff, since that’s all here. But I had my guys furnish it. You just need to bring your stuff back over or let me move it.”

She chews her lip and doesn’t answer. After a second she walks over to the food cart, pours another mug of coffee, and takes a long sip.

“Thanks,” she says finally.

I raise an eyebrow. “You’re thanking me? I’m actually surprised.”

“Don’t ruin this too, okay?”

I grin at her and nod. “Look, just let me know what you want, okay? I’ll move you back and things can go back to normal.”

That makes her hesitate. She picks up a little English muffin and nibbles on the top half thoughtfully for a second. “Can they go back to normal though?” she asks.

“I don’t see why not.
